What Claude for Small Business is
Six facts from Anthropic's own pages, read 18 October 2026. Anthropic's announcement. For Claude itself, read what Claude is; for the app it runs in, Claude Cowork.
- 01Launched on 13 May 2026. By Anthropic, as a plugin for Cowork, the part of the Claude desktop app where Claude works in your files and tools.
- 0215 workflows and 15 skills. Across finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR and customer service: the Monday brief, closing the books, proposals, leads and marketing among them.
- 03On any paid Claude plan. Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. Anthropic lists no separate price for the plugin: you pay for the Claude plan.
- 04Installed from Cowork. In the desktop app for macOS or Windows: Customize, then Plugins, then Small Business, then Install.
- 05Connectors to the tools you use. Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Zoho CRM, Zoho Desk, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Stripe, PayPal, Shopify and more.
- 06You approve every step. Anthropic's own words: you approve every step that touches money or customers. Claude reaches only what the connected account already allows.
What Claude for Small Business does for a UK company, and what it leaves out
Read from the plugin's own files, version 1.35.1, on 18 October 2026. The workflows run anywhere; the rules behind tax, payroll and hiring are American.
Works for a UK company as it ships
- 01Your ledger, if it is Xero, QuickBooks or Zoho Books. Bills, invoices, aged debtors and the month-end close, through Anthropic's connectors. See Zoho Books.
- 02Your CRM and service desk. Zoho CRM and Zoho Desk among them, for leads, follow-ups and support replies.
- 03Your office tools. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace: the inbox, the calendar and the files Claude reads.
Left for you to set up
- 01Tax and VAT. The tax skills work out US federal estimates; a non-US business gets a closed-books packet for its accountant. UK VAT returns and MTD dates are not in it.
- 02Payroll. Direct connections are to US payroll only. PAYE, RTI and pension dates are not in it.
- 03Sage and FreeAgent. No connector for either. We build an MCP server, priced in the offer.
- 04Companies House, UK GDPR and PECR. Nothing on them in the plugin. They go into the company's AI policy and into skills we set up.
- 05Hiring paperwork. US forms and a US offer letter, with a note to replace them outside the US.

How to set up Claude for Small Business for a UK company
Six steps, in the order Claude Pilot B takes them over 30 days. Where Claude runs and where the data goes: how Claude runs in your company.
- 01Claude Team on the company account. Not personal accounts: sign-in with the company account, roles, and who may install what.
- 02Cowork and the plugin on every seat. The desktop app on Windows or Mac, with Claude for Small Business installed from Cowork.
- 03Your systems connected, read-only at first. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and Xero, QuickBooks or Zoho. For each connection to your systems we build what fits: a connector, an MCP server, a plugin or a skill. We show you the options, with the cost of each, and you choose.
- 04The UK way in place of the US defaults. Your own documents and rules as skills: VAT and MTD dates, PAYE, UK offer letters, PECR consent.
- 05Rules and people. The company's AI policy, spending limits on every account, and two Claude ambassadors: colleagues who help the others after we leave.
- 06Three real tasks, then the review. Three tasks from your team's work done in Cowork, and the written review at day 30.
When to set it up with a partner, and when not to
When you do not need us
We say so on the call.
- 01One person writing emails and documents. Claude Pro is enough, and the plugin installs on it.
- 02A small team that only wants accounts. Claude Team starts in minutes on Anthropic's site.
- 03An IT team that works with APIs and has time. Simple connections can be built in-house.
When a partner pays for itself
- 01Client and staff data on the seats. Team on the company account, the AI policy and spending limits, decided before anyone starts.
- 02A UK ledger without a connector. Sage or FreeAgent, through an MCP server we build and test.
- 03Nothing may leave the UK. The agents run in your own AWS account in London, where Claude Opus 5.5 is served in the UK. The seats go to Anthropic in the US, so we decide with you what goes on them.
- 04The whole team using it, not two people. Claude ambassadors, three real tasks and a review that says what is worth extending.

Claude for Small Business: questions from UK companies
What is Claude for Small Business?
Anthropic's plugin for Cowork, launched on 13 May 2026, with 15 ready-to-run workflows and 15 skills for finance, operations, sales, marketing, HR and customer service. It connects Claude to tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho and Microsoft 365. You approve every step that touches money or customers.
How much does Claude for Small Business cost?
Anthropic lists no separate price for the plugin: it installs on a paid Claude plan, and the seats are billed by Anthropic in pounds. Setting it up for a UK company with us is Claude Pilot B, from 12,500 GBP. A team already on Claude Team takes Claude Team Adoption, from 5,900 GBP.
Does Claude for Small Business work in the UK?
It installs and runs for a UK company, and its connectors to Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho and Microsoft 365 work as they do anywhere. Its tax and payroll skills are written for the US: a non-US business gets a closed-books packet for its accountant. UK VAT, PAYE, Companies House and UK GDPR are left for you to set up.
Pro, Max or Team?
Team, for a company. We set up Team seats only: Anthropic's business plan, with a data processing agreement, central billing and an admin who decides which connectors are allowed. Anthropic does not train on Team content by default, so client and staff data go on Team, not on Pro or Max.
Where does the data go?
Anthropic stores Team and Enterprise data in the US and may process it in the US, Europe, Asia or Australia; no plan keeps a seat's data in the UK today. The agents we build run in your own AWS account, on Amazon Bedrock in London. There Claude Opus 5.5 runs in the UK, while Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 are processed within Europe.
Does it work with Sage or FreeAgent?
Not as it ships: the plugin has connectors for Xero, QuickBooks and Zoho Books, and none for Sage or FreeAgent. For those, and for any other system with an API, we build an MCP server, priced in the offer. We show you the options, with the cost of each, and you choose.
Pilot B or Claude Team Adoption?
Pilot B stands up Claude Team or Enterprise for the whole team, on the company account, with no user ceiling, in 30 days. Claude Team Adoption is for a team that already has Claude Team: 2 weeks with one lead, under 250 users.
Can the pilot stand alone?
Yes. You keep the company account set up, the connectors, the three tasks with their skills, the company's AI policy, the two Claude ambassadors and the written review at day 30. A second department follows when that review says it is worth extending.
Pick a time. Bring the process that hurts most.
You leave with a straight answer on whether Pilot B is worth it for you, and what a first agent would cost. You speak to a Claude Certified Architect from our team, not a salesperson.
- 01One process: how many a week, which system, who checks the result.
- 02A yes or no on Pilot B for your company, and on a first agent.
- 03If it is a yes, the written offer with the final price before you sign.
